do you love you car?

I just don't get kids these days!

this girl i used to work with let me borrow her 00' maxima(which she got from her mommy) once to pick something up for her. i stepped inside and it was a goddam mess. trash every where, cds thrown all about, and dust and dirt in every little crevice. i was shocked and appalled. my other friend drives a sentra... but i swear it doubles as a garbage truck... at least half the space in the back seat was taken up by garbage...

i got my car a couple months ago(hand me down from my grandparents)...i keep it as clean as possilble. my interior is spotless and organized. i wash the outside as much as possible. i have rain-x and new wipers on my windsheild, and it is crystal clear. my dash is free of stains (well there are some permanent ones sitting around) and my car doesnt smell like cigarettes. I check the oil and tranny fluid all the time. i check my brakes and always look into a problem every time something goes wrong. it also helps when my grandpa knows a crapload about cars.

so anyways, how is my car from 1990 is in such good condition, yet my friends are driving garbage mobiles that only 2-3 years old!?

well that's my rant, give a shout if you love treatin your car right!

I make an effort to keep mine clean, though sometimes it piles up on me without my knowing it... well seeing it... well without my notice

That's sick.... I don't care what my car is.. if it's not clean, It's not going anywhere....
the inside is always clean, and the exterior is clean as much as possible (Canadian winters = booo)

I hate cars like that. I'd clean it for my friends if I had gotten their car to borrow.. NASTY!!!

???Hate your dad for buying you a CAR???

Anyway, I've always kept my car as spotless as possible and quickly ream out anyone who leaves anything in it.

I had my '91 Corolla's interior looking brand new after 11 years. Took a Q-tip and cleaned out the vents, that is how clean it was.

However right now I am busy with school and don't really drive either car often so I could care less about the cleaniless of it.. I only drive on the weekends now.

I work for a car lot, so I drive different cars, usually for a week or two at a time.

I don't sweep them or clean them (Armorall, windows, etc.) but I NEVER get out without taking everything in. I hate trash in my car.

We sold my best friend a Grand Prix GTP a few years ago. He takes wonderful care of it as far as mechanical stuff, but his interior is a wreck!! Very dirty, and layers of trash. Even stinks a little. Makes me sick, because it was a beautiful car when we sold it to him. We even bought a brand new carpet because the one that was in it was dirty.

I keep my car as clean as possible inside and out...however brake dust is a real PITA on German cars!

I care for my car better then I care for my room. The interior is spotless, save for some dust. There is hardly ever any trash on the floor and if there is I usually gather it all into a bag if I'm not gonna throw it out right away. My car is a 91 and looks brand new on the inside and the exterior is very clean as well. Paint is still quite shiny.

Want to borrow my car?🙂

Heh... i do exactly the same as you... my passed down 90's car is still running... and some of these guys don't even appreciate their cars. 🙁 Ironic isn't it?... oh well... still saving to buy my own... 🙂

Did you get aftermarket pads or a big brake kit? I'll probably try out the Mintex Red Box pads soon...unless I upgrade to a StopTech kit 😀

I just got pads
OEM replacement rotors and new pads (not OEM parts) you know.. i don't even know what they are called.. a guy told me they were low dust so i ordered them and had them put on... i don't have the boxes anymore..
they really are very low dust
i can go at least a week without cleaning my rims with very little brake dust.

Thankfully, not all "kids" are like that. I drive a 2003 Eclipse GT daily and it is spotless. As much mechanical work as possible is done by myself or friends that are certified mechanics. I also own a 2002 Ninja 250 which is so clean you could eat off of the swingarm (I wouldn't, but u get the idea).

Yeah, but I get frustrated when I pick the kids up from school and the automatic sliding doors jam 'cause the kids are still bouncing around in their seats.

<---drives the ultimate mom-mobile

My sister's car is like that. It is 8 years old though, but it is an absolute mess.

On the other hand, I really don't like my car, but it is only two years old and I keep it as clean as possible. Since I bought it new, I'll have it for another 8 years or so, and I might as well keep it clean. I don't like living in trash.

I'm sorta anal... my car is a garage queen and more of a weekend car anywho so it rarely sees rain and I use some detailer's spray on it for bugs, tar, bird poo, etc all the time just to keep the car looking great.

I do get a tad lazy with the interior though... but it's vacuumed twice a year seats taken out and everything as well as shampooed and trim is detailed is a silicone protectant. Keeps the car looking nice all year round...

Who else finds detailing their car strangely relaxing?
