pumping gas, I'll purposely spill some on my fingers, that way I can smell my fingers as I'm driving.

Wow... I never knew the smell of gas was so popular. I thought I was weird thinking it had an interesting aroma to it.

Gas, meh. Maybe saw gas (2 cycle mix) because my dad was a logger and he'd come home smelling like it. What really gets me is the smell of creosote. That really brings back memories of childhood.

I wish they made gasoline scratch and sniff stickers.

They probably could. As I understand it, gasoline itself is odorless, but something is added to it so that a person's nose can detect it. Same thing is done with propane.

I've never heard that they added anything to gas. I've heard of them doing that to natural gas though.

no gives me a headache.

for those of you who like the smell of gas you should write to Yankee Candle Company and suggest to them that they make a candle with that scent.

Reading the Thread Topic, I was thinking gas from the ass.

The thought of a parody briefly crossed my mind, but the certainty of a vacation quickly followed...

I'm pretty sure gas smell is actually gas and not additives - you smell it all over the units to produce gasoline at a refinery, in places that are far upstream of all the additive stuff they do.

Gasoline evaporates rather quickly, I'm sure you're smelling the gasoline vapors.

Natural gas is what the use the odor additives for.

Whenever i'm filling gas i find myself taking big deep breaths taking in the smell. I have to force myself to stop...I just love the smell...

Some... but more than the sweet smell of gasoline, I love exaust fumes from late 70's, early 80's pickup trucks (pre Catalytic converter era)

Incomplete combustion because the rusted out POS is running on 5 cylinders?

Yup, nothing like the smell of Napalm in the morning...

Seriously I like the smell of gas and I love the smell of aerosol cans, especially spray paint. No idea why...

Wait until you get some in your mouth from siphoning some, your view will change.

30 years later, I can still taste it.
