OP is about the inside garage door (entrance from garage into home), not the side door.

Hell, I don't even lock my garage door. Many times I even leave it open. BTW, this is my detached garage (I have both detached and attached).

Every motherfucking door in my house has a damn lock. I lock my bedroom door when I go to sleep, I lock the bathroom door when I do my business, I lock the kitchen door when I cook.

Oh, for people who don't lock their doors, can I get your address?

Ahh, my mistake. I don't lock that one for the above reason.

Can I get your address so I'll know which crappy crime-infested ghetto never to move to?

I wonder what the odds are of getting robbed versus you dying in a house fire because you couldn't get out the door?

My attached garage has a service door. That is locked and has a dead bolt too. The door from the garage into the house is locked and also has a dead bolt.

Every lock is locked. I've been broken into twice. The last time being about 10 years ago. The human race has proven itself to be untrustworthy. I see no reason to not utilize simple precautionary devices.

Locks? I don't even know if we have keys to our house doors. Nope, I don't lock them. Worried? Nope.

Why aren't I worried? Well, a fox grabbed one of our rabbits. We didn't hear it, but we did hear the loud boom, boom of our neighbor's shotgun killing the fox as it crossed the road, about 15 seconds after it grabbed the rabbit.

The other neighbors shot two unwanted critters near our house. These critters are sneaky bastards. So, if you think you're sneakier than a fox, have at it. If you're wrong, well, I wouldn't want to be you. Oh, and if the dogs start barking, everyone looks to see what the dogs are barking at. Hopefully, you're not bothered by a dog from a breed that's been developed for centuries to protect livestock against attack by wolves and bears - you ARE tougher than a bear or wolf, right? I ask because the dog is supposed to win those battles; I wouldn't want you being a decided underdog (no pun intended.) And hopefully, you're not bothered by the other two large breed dogs who are going to help her out. When she stands on her hind legs, she looks my wife straight in the eyes. I've got a couple inches on her, when I'm wearing shoes, of course.

Locks?

Hinges.

In our previous home, built by Lennar, the door to the garage was hinged on the outside, so if the door is locked, all you have to do is lift the door off the hinges to gain entry into the house!

I read about that in an "Encyclopedia Brown" book when I was 7.

it is of no consequence to me, but the future wife feels otherwise so it usually stays locked. she also locks her car, which is locked in the garage and parked in by my car :D

Not usually. The door in the garage that leads outside is locked (deadbolt and regular lock), and we have motion detector's and a IR camera in the garage connected to the alarm system, so I usually don't lock the door going from the garage to the kitchen (in our case).
