Do you live in a Nanny State?

I do. And i'm sick of it. fuck right off with telling me what I can and not do. I just want to buy 95% alchohol. Apparently I have to write a letter to the liquor control board stating my reasons for wanting this. I"m so frustrated right now.

That's lame :^D

You know, I can understand the rationale behind banning *all* alcohol. I don't agree with it, and think it's stupid on multiple levels, but it's logically consistent. Capping the the alcohol level of beer, and saying 40% whisky is fine, but 95% alcohol isn't, accomplishes nothing. It's like a child decided on the rules, with their stupid child logic. They should be ashamed they consume the air humans need to live.

I'm a little fed up right now. I just hate hese additional hoops I'm going to have to go thru now...or I could travel a few hours into the quebec border and get it....fucking bullshit.

I told myself yeserday...never bing a netflix show again. I got burned several weeks ago with Salvation. I did it again with Dead to Me. watched all 10 episodes today...i blame the fact I love Christina Applegate...she is amazing and her friend in the show is equially awesome.

Everywhere is a nanny state these days, some are just worst than others. Blame the lawsuit industry for that. A good portion of stupid rules these days falls on liability, one way or the other.

That and governments just like making rules for the sake of rules, lot of rules don't even make any sense. Law makers basically need to justify their jobs.

What about an end run by using a chemical supply company. If there isn't one that sells retail, I'm sure a pharmacist could order it.

why do you need 190 proof alcohol?

I have about 18 gallons of 200 proof ethanol in the lab.

I could send you some, Mayne.

But I need something in return.

it usually requires some very expensive licensing to purchase the stuff. Either work for an institution that has a broad license to order it straight from the big suppliers like Fisher or VWR, or from a supply store within-institution that carries their own license and passes the ~80% savings in cost on to you.
