Do you listen to the same type of music as your siblings?

My sister and I both listen to rap/hip hop so we like to tell each other about new songs that are out and which ones are good.

IMO, it depends on the different ages of the siblings Azndude51 🙂

My 21 year old sister doesn't listen to music (no word of a lie). The only band she kinda likes is great big sea because her friend likes it... and play soundtracks, but those don't really count.

I like anything played in a club + rock + classic rock

Yeah, probably about 75% of the same. We both got into punk music and the same bands at the same time, we still listen to those but have grown tastes in other styles of music.

My sister's 4 years older, she listens to pop and country while i listen to hip-hop, alternative rock among other things, so no we don't have any common tastes in music.

edit: another point is that i don't mind listening to any genre of music including hers, but she can't stand most of what i listen to... 😕

My sister's two years younger nad her favorite band is something called "Fountains of Wayne." I don't get it. But then, she doesn't appreciate acapella and Weezer, so go figure.

he listens to whatever i put on.

We were both into metal when we were younger, he more hardcore than I... but my tastes have changed and he doesnt mind one bit.

🙂

yes and no. we used to listen to mostly the same stuff, but he branched out to hip/hop and rap and I mellowed out a bit.
we still both can rock out 😱 to Less Than Jake and The Suicide Machines though.

i have two older sisters that listen to country and adult contemporary. i don't like country music much.

my younger bro listens to pretty much what i do except no rap and more classic rock.

Not really. Some I guess, but not a lot. My brother listens to a lot of country, I listen to almost none (he also listens to random types of rock, so we share some there). One sister listens to mostly pop, I listen to almost none. My other sister listens to country and classic rock...I do listen to quite a bit of classic rock.

I listen to alternative mostly, with some rap and trance thrown in here and there. I have five brothers. One listens to mostly rap, one listens to mostly classic rock, one listens to mostly country, one listens to mostly punk, and the last one I'm not sure... probably emo these days.

Most of the time, my sister and I will enjoy the same music. When we choose our own music, though, she tends towards more pop-ish rock and hip hop, and I lean towards avant/underground styles. Oh, and she doesn't listen to any "classical music" by choice, and certainly not to any "contemporary music."
