I do. Some do-wop (spelling?) is always enjoyable.

"Dancing in the Street"

I love my "O Brother Where Art Thou?" Soundtrack for the old music and the old-sounding music.

I love my Baz Luhrmann "Something for Everybody" CD for some of the remixes of old songs. Some of them sound like they could have been from the '20s.

I listen to music that appeals to me. It must have something. Old or new music is not that important for me, it is more that the music must trigger a vibe within me.

Last several years I've gotten into old world European music - not classical, more like "early music", medieval-type stuff. Have to filter out the boring stuff though. I started out with obscure Christmas music and branched out from there.

Prior to that it was strictly 90s-00s rock, with a sprinkling of 80s pop and a huge dose of Pink Floyd.

This past year or so I realized I was missing out on some new releases so I've put some money into current music.

I like the older Indian (Hindi, Punjabi) songs more than the newer ones. It seems the newer ones are about all flash and the special audio effects - pretty sure influenced greatly by the West. The old Indian songs had a lot more depth in every way.

Got a link for an online stream?

I use Youtube to play them once in a while. Back in the day, Kazaa and the like were good to use :)

Try searching for Mohammed Rafi and you'll get quite a list of songs. There are other artists/singers as well but he is considered the greatest of that era (at least to a lot of people).

When it comes to hip-hop, I do get into a lot of old school. It has some great history.

Older than that. I get into jazz & funk.

My preference seems to be music that was written about 200 years ago...with a few newer composers thrown in the mix.

As for "modern music," most of my listening is to music from the "golden era," 30's, 40's and even 50's, with some stuff from the 60's, 70's and even 80's from time to time.

Old fart = old music.

Now, I realize there maybe some groups out there right now that are putting out music that I might like (Led Zep, Deep Purple, SRV, Black Sabbath, Ten Years After, Rainbow, etc.), but they are probably few and far between and I really don't have the inclination to wade through a city of crap to find a bread crumb of good music, so I'm satisfied with what I have.

Baroque is probably too avant garde for you huh?

I think those are Benjamins, not Bachs.
