We somewhat limit it even when we grow it for them. It upsets my male cat's stomach if he consumes a lot -- which he will do.

Growing up, we had a outdoor Gold alley cat, we called Red. He was a male, and would break in to a closet to get the catnip in a bag,on a shelf at eye level. I was in 2nd grade, the school I went to was just up the street. My teacher found the cat passed out in the road upside down asleep on the way to school. She though he was dead, lol. He was jut passed out.

Did you forget to pay them their cut?

lol, no. My cat was indoor only, I was growing it for him. I'd take some of his litter and put it near the plants and that would keep them safe for a few days. But, my kitty died :(, and the plants were trampled and broken to pieces soon after.

We used to give our cat, Nemo (RIP) CatNip, but had to limit it to Catnip toys because he would eat so much of it that he'd throw up and he became WILD!

We had another cat who was a stray, he was so skinny no matter how much we fed him and when he got Catnip in his system, we had to keep him from going in the basement since he would always find a way to get into the ceiling.... My mom couldn't take any more of those two tearing up shit when they were high, so, she gave the black one to the Humane Society.

My cat does not react much to catnip. Catnip is a gateway drug that leads to more hardcore stuff like thermal paper, cigarettes, and glue. My cat just goes ballistic and wants to rub herself all over any object that has cig smell on it. I also have to hide receipts because she eats them, and envelopes because she likes to lick the glue right off. Freaking drug addict cat lol. Maybe that's my problem, I have to stop limiting her of these things.
For one of my cats, it was isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Clean up something on the floor, or clean a heatsink, or anything, and she'd show up out of nowhere to stick her face in it. She was usually a fairly compliant and cooperative cat, but she'd act resistant when pushed away from the cloud of vapor awesome.

My cat seemed to lose interest in catnip pretty quickly. I keep trying to give some to her from time to time, but after the first couple of times she quit doing anything with it.

Only three in four cats respond to catnip.

I left the container of cat nip open on the ground. My cat does not care at all. She was a bit intrigued at first and was acting a little funny but not more than that. Now she's just chilling on my desk.

Also has anyone ever tried to make tea with it? It's actually not bad... I'm not really a tea person, but I had to try it when I read it can be done.
