do you like Windows ME?

I have only serviced a few computers running Windows ME, I've never used/installed it on any computers. I'm still using Win98SE + MSIE 5.5SP2 with no problems and total stability. I still use some DOS utilities and apps, so I have been resistant to change. Don't fix what ain't broken.

My only gripe is that Microsoft doesn't issue all-inclusive Service Packs for Win98SE, so you have to go tracking down every update individually. That sucks.

I've never used ME as my primary OS, but I have had very little problems with it ... even since the beta testing days. Had ME been released before Win2K, the perceptions of this OS would be far different. (Uhh, 2K did officially release before ME, right?)

I do. And I don't care what people say. ME is a pretty reliable OS if used correctly with a correct set of applications. I ran one PC with ME for years on end with no extra maintenance required. I generally like the 9X series b/c of simplicity and speed.

For example, if you have a 1Ghz Celeron laptop with 128MB of RAM and a 10GB HD, will you feel comfortable putting XP on it? It'll be so slow. But with ME it will be a snappy running system which can do literally everything you'd want. The ME is a good OS for PCs in the 1GHz range, with 128 to 256MB of RAM and with a HD no bigger than 20GB (b/c a bigger one will be ineffective with the FAT32 system).

It's a great OS for it's purpose, I got no idea why some people hate it so much.
