I have two cats because I don't have time or space for a dog.

You know the best thing about having two cats as opposed to one? I never need to clean up cat vomit anymore!

If he has a cat, however, the woman's reaction is, "Awww, what a cute kitty!" Which reaction would you want a girl to have? ;)

EDIT: The only use I have for small dogs is for punting practice.

Like you could get your nose out of her crotch long enough for the dog to get his in there. :p

Living in an apartment, I have a "smallish" dog, a Beagle. Generally I don't care for small "yappy" dogs, though.
I also like cats but I'm allergic to them and dogs are generally more fun to play with IMO. Also, I hate cleaning out litterboxes.

P.S. My dog is not stupid enough to eat crap.

HotChic is right about the Shi Tzu dogs. They are awesome! We stayed with my aunt and uncle a few weeks ago, and they had one. My whole family (all cat-lovers!) fell in love with it. This type of dog is small, cute, non-shedding, friendly (but not overly so), and unlike most small dogs, doesn't yip-yap all the time!

I don't have the time for a dog nor a cat nor a plant, but big dogs 0wn. I have a special fondness of rottweilers. Though, I always owned beagles while I was growing up.. my sister has two puppies right now.. they fight over who gets to run around w/ the dried cat sh!t in their mouth... then they eat it. Dumb dogs. Cats are sweet too though, as long as they are fiesty. You know you're having fun w/ the cat when your arm is bleeding by the end of the evening :)

I've had mid size dogs always around 40 to 60 pounds which is a fine dog for keeping in the house a lot of the time, and doesn't kill you by sitting on you.

I do not like little rat-sized dogs. I have always had the mid size dogs such as German Shepherds, Huskies and now we have a champion flatcoated retreiver. Here PICS!!! Also pics of my kids with our dog. Cats are OK, but that snotty cat attitude bothers me.

my ex gf had a little yippy dog that I hated. I used to kick it when she wasn't looking.

i like pretty much all dogs except for the super tiny ones because they're all overbred and neurotic. basically i like dogs that aren't overbred, so that rules out most toy dogs, german sheperds, dobermans, etc.

When I got my new blue heeler pup on Halloween, I let her stay in the house because it's cold out. About this time, my cat decided to stop using the litterbox. I thought it was great that I didn't have to clean it much anymore until I realized that he WAS using the litterbox. I caught Blue snacking from it...out she went, no more dogs in the house. And no more dog kisses. Nasty creatures. :disgust:

Large dogs.

My favorite dog is the German Shepherd.

I also like (as in potentially own... I like most any dog except for yappy ones... I just would only get particular ones):

Mastiff
Rottweiler
Blood Hound
Lab
St. Benard
Irish Setter

60+ - 100 lb is good, but I don't like it when they love you so much they think they need to jump up on you all the time. lol How do you get a dog to stop jumping on you like that?

I think Golden Retreiver-size is perfect...but my grandmother has this toy poodle...oh, man, it's the happiest, most energetic dog I've ever met. I wish I could take it back to school with me!

I like small size dogs. I had to leave my 2 Jack Russell terriers behind with my parents in Australia...(unfortunately one passed away in May 2002 from old age, he passed away 2 weeks prior to turning 15 years old). They were brothers from the same litter. For about the past couple years they developed cataracts and partial deafness but always very happy and playful.

My surviving Jack Russell is 15 years and 7 months old now and after his brother died was lonely but now he's back to his usual self.

I would like to get another Jack Russell sometime in the near future.

I don't mind big dogs.

But those little rats that yip and run around your legs...they scare the crap out of me!

I own a cat, they're much easier to look after. Feed twice a day! No need to walk them etc :)
