If the fries are soggy you're not eating fast enough. My Canuck friends always talk about this as after party 3am food. In Chicago we go for burritos.

Poutine is what I dream and live for. At least once a week. 😀

Some people put vinegar on their fries or even their poutine, but I rarely do. Actually it's kind of funny, if you go in a US fast food joint they don't even have vinegar lol.

There's a place in town that makes pizza poutine. now that is to die for, and it WILL kill you, slowly, but it's worth it. Knocks off the crappy elderly years anyway so it's all good.

(yes there's fries in there, somewhere)

Honestly, I've never eaten it. Just doesn't look appealing. You apparently have to go to Quebec to get the real stuff anyway.

Oh, and the vinegar and fries is an English thing. Brits traditionally don't eat fries (chips) with ketchup. Just salt and malt vinegar. You think that's gross, the Belgians and French eat them with mayonnaise. Tried it once out of curiosity. Won't do it again.

After hearing about it on a few forums, I made some. I bought frozen fries, but deep fried them. It took a few stops to find cheese curds, but I finally prevailed. I cheated on the gravy and used canned.

It was alright. I don't know if I'd make it again. I'd definitely eat it again if I found a place that makes it. I can see how people enjoy it. It would be good comfort food.

I think the name is repulsive enough, or maybe I'm just not saying it correctly. Eitherway, no thanks.

French fries and vinegar = good. Ketchup, and sometimes other sauces as well, but after that things go down hill quick.

Definitely a good thing to eat if you want a big greaseball of food - which is most of the time for me... One time recently I had a double bacon mushroom cheeseburger with a double side of poutine at a local greasy spoon called "The Blue Collar Diner" and almost had a heart attack all over the table.
