Lobster is plentiful and cheap where I live. Crab is not as easy to find and is pricey. I like both. I usually get my lobster off the dock for about $2.50 a pound or 10 for $25.00.

Not a fan of crab because the meat is harder to get to. Takes a lot of work to get a mouthful. Lobster meat is easier to get to, and accessible in bigger chunks.

I love crab. I just can't get in to lobster. It doesn't have as much flavor and I don't like the more toothsome texture nearly as much as the softer crab. When I eat whole lobster, I find that the unpleasant smell of the tomalley just permeates everything which also detracts from the experience.

LOVE king crab. OM NOM NOM. Costco used to sell the huge legs for like $8/pound, but in recent years it's creeped up to like $14-$15/pound, which makes it tough to purchase a meal.

All seafood is delicious. I grew up in S. Florida, so most of the fish/crab we ate was freshly caught - by us.

I think lobster tail is way overrated. Lobster claw on the other hand, is quite good.

Theres like 20 types of commercially available crab. Most people would not like all of them. For example, soft shell crab? blech, no thanks. King Crab? Hells yeah.

Why is crab so expensive in the baltimore/DC area??

Btw, eating crab with anything other than old bay is blasphemy.

Lobster first choice, King crab second choice. The small crabs may be tasty, but they are harder to get out of the shell. And all of these must of course, be dipped in melted butter for best enjoyment.

I like lobster.
I love crab.

It's not the "aura". It's the slightly sweet, delicate flavor that you don't find anywhere else.

because there's huge demand for it there.

a lot of crab in baltimore is from texas and louisiana.
