No. I've heard enough gunfire to last a lifetime.
NO!

I too heard enough to last more than a lifetime, specially when my family & I was shot at, and shelled/bombed on.

No, I heard 3 shots a week ago and a young man was killed about 1/3 mile from my home.
If I owned a gun the answer would be "yes"...

I own more guns than just about anyone on AT, and I don't like the sound of gunfire. It's harsh and jarring and it tends to alarm me.

Suppressors FTW.

I don't like 7.62 that much. .

"This is the AK-47. Preferred weapon of your enemies. It makes a distinctive sound when fired at you."

From personal experience, I can vouch for that. There was a HUGE difference in the sound made by an AK when compared to the sounds made by M-16's ...many of us carried AK-57's as back-up weapons for use in places where an M-16 would tell the enemy we were in their back yard...

i went shooting today. man it was gun. the shock wave of the bullet, the noise, and smell are soooooo stress relieving ^_^

There's something about the smell of cordite that gets the juices flowing...😉

(yes I know...they no longer use cordite in ammunition, nor is it even made AFAIK, but lots of the military ammunition used in Vietnam was old enough to still contain cordite)

I love the smell of napalm in the morning...It smells like VICTORY!

I used to hunt every year before we moved to Kahleeforneeya. There are just too dammed many idiots running around the hills with "guns" and shooting at just about anything that moves....For several years, we used to go shooting at a make-shift range near Lake Don Pedro, just to keep in practice and teach the kids how to shoot, as well as proper gun safety, but the BLM closed the area to shooting in the early 90's and there are no more open shooting areas near by.
My wife and I have been talking about selling off the last of the rifles. Most were her dad's, used for many years to make meat every year...Since they never get used, it's getting to be a PITA to clean and oil them every year...but I certainly don't want to see them rust away, so I do it on a set schedule.

I believe Wolf makes some ammo using Cordite. I saw a letter in some gun mag recently where a guy took the bullet ou of the casing and found these orange sticks mixed with some gunpowder. He wanted to know what it was.

In my neighborhood, gunfire is a bad sound.
At the range, it is part of the adrenaline rush from shooting.

I have only 1 gun, and it's a blast to shoot. (S&W 357 mag, usually I fire 38s cause they are cheaper, but the 357s are lots of fun too)

wtf is wrong with people?
Ugh, loud bang. Loud bang make me sound big and strong. Ugh.
Something like that, perhaps? Same thing that makes people install stereos with enough bass to shatter glass, same motive that drives apes to beat their chests, or shake branches - makes them look and sound all badass, so that teh chikz will sex0rz them.

I have been tempted to wear Hoppes 9 as a cologne a few times. 😱
