I have 7 guns now. I voted yes...
although, I may take it back...sometimes i'd love to shoot without having to wear ear protection.

Not really. That sound a rifle makes when you jack a cartridge into the cylinder is a different story. The actual report is too noisy for my tastes.

loading a firearm sounds good. firing it is loud and painful without ear protection, which is inconvenient.

I voted yes, but it depends on the type of gun. 30/30 and 30-06 sound awesome, as do .45s and 9mm, but I don't like 7.62 that much. We have a VEPR that's really fun to shoot, but the sound is a little too loud without the reverb.

i went out a few weeks ago with my brother to fire some of our fathers guns. he gave me a ruger mkII, which is a blast, and said we could take whatever we liked.

we took an ak-47, a .308, and a glock .40
a friend had a colt 45 and a 357 lever action

all loud. i could tolerate the glock without protection for a few shots, or even from a distance but everything else required ear protection; which was annoying.

it did not, however, remove all the enjoyment from the day :)

I love the sound of gunfire, but not the dB. I've always wanted to go to the range and get some real shots in... which gives me some ideas.
