Do you like Fiji water?

When I see a bottle of Fiji water, I get annoyed. It's not my place to tell other people what they should and should not do or drink, but everytime I see Fiji water, I think about world hunger. Personally I don't see the difference between water from some Colorado spring and Fiji water, and I think the energy wasted (in my opinion) transporting Fiji water could be used to transport a plane full of dehydrated rations and water treatment tablets to some starving part of the world (the food and tablets would probably weigh less).

They were the ones who insulted Cleveland's water supply, so the head water guy in Cleveland tested them and found their city water was cleaner than Fiji water, right?

Yeah I just drink the cheapest bottled water in the store, because our tap water is pretty nasty.

In my opinion, water from a local spring isn't sufficiently different from Fiji water to justify the trouble. Now french wine may actually have a nontrivial difference from wine made in California, and the same may be said of any luxury imported item. However, that also depends on opinion. I just think Fiji water is the extreme of this luxury goods concept, and I think while the extra value of other luxury goods may be debated, this extreme example is pretty wasteful.

Now, I don't presume to decide what people should or should not do, so nef away if you so desire. I am just saying I think Fiji water is just a marketing ploy and very wasteful.

I prefer most bottled water. I only drink filtered tap and pure flo although we have some bottles of arrowhead. Fiji is good stuff though.
