Do you like classical music?

I've never really understood how some people (like my dad) can sit for hours, just listening to classical music and truly enjoy it.

But today, I listened to Braveheart's soundtrack, and for one of the first time, I just sat back and listened carefully, enjoying every intonation and rythm change.

I guess when you take time to listen to the soul of the music, classical music can be quite good!!

A lot of classical music is telling a story. It helps if you know the origins of the song, composer and the times it was written in.

Listen to Gladiator soundtrack... awesome.

I never understood why "classical" music is often "what other people like to hear". Sheesh.

As for myself, I do it the other way around... having training as an oboist (duh), I often have trouble listening to "classical" music while coding / studying. Pop music is much better for that because it is so repetive (much more so than "classical" music). I writhe when I hear someone say something like "yeah, I like classical music, it's relaxing." Boo! Hiss!

I agree.Classical music distracts the hell out of me.

I was a violinist and A saxaphonist so Jazz screws with me as well.

I usually listen to alternative when studying.

people who say classical music is so relaxing in general aren't really listening and are just bored of it 😀 i find a lot of classical music very stimulating and exciting.

People who says "I like classical music because it's relaxing" are the people who don't get it.
If you listen to it like it's dead, then yes....classical music can appear to be "very relaxing", but if u listen to it like it's newly written, you can get great enjoyment just listening to the music without any prior knowledge of who the composer is or what kind of instrument is played.

*listenning to Bach Harpiscord Concerto right now*

Exactly. To me Classical music should not be background study music (but if it helps you out by all means do it).
