Do you leave your curtains/blinds open or closed?

I keep mine open during the day. I cannot stand a dark living room, just looks too damn dreary. I live in a one story house at the end of a cul de sac. With the blinds open you can't really see into the house unless you get about ten feet away from the house so its not a big deal to me.

Almost closed all the time. THe sun makes the house way too hot. However, that is soon changing because Fall is almost here

This for me as well. I live in a 2 story so the blinds upstairs are almost always closed 24/7, especially in the summer where it's always hotter upstairs. Down stairs I'll open them up in the morning just to get a little more light (I'm a morning person) to relax and enjoy the sun. By 11am in the summer they're closed for the rest of the day.

nighttime: windows and curtains open if it's comfortable outside

Winter:
daytime: curtains open, except on very cold days

ehh ... front side, facing street ... has big living room windows, then the front door to the house, then the home office, and then the master bedroom ...

I sleep in the basement and use the master bedroom as a junk/storage type room, or for guests ... so it's usually closed as I don't go in there very much.

The living room I leave open sometimes, and leave closed if I'm watching TV in there, or if the AC is on.

Office I generally leave closed since the light makes glare and heat.

Back side of the house has kitchen window, patio door, bathroom has small window, and second bedroom window ....

Patio I usually leave the curtain open, kitchen window I have no curtain. Bathroom I leave blinds down, bedroom I used to rent to a friend but currently is unoccupied, usually leave it open.

1st floor apt. The blinds in my room are always closed but the kitchen and tv area are open a lot of the time. The way the sun is it's generally hard to see in my porch door/window. There isn't a lot of foot traffic either so it's a minor worry. My neighbors also have their blinds open frequently.

Ground floor condo - front faces the common area. back - my bedroom and computer room face the woods and stream. I enjoy watching the deer, squirrels and geese frolic.

I keep the front blinds open so that I can watch what the neighbors are doing.

We just had automated blinds put in. They go up and down on a timer. If we hadn't done this, they would stay in whatever state they started in forever be that up or down...

I open my blinds halfway during the day, and my ikea sheers (that were more than 5 bux a panel) stay closed but don't block much light.
