I feel funny asking this, but I can't find any good reviews anywhere, and you guys are generally the best source for this kind of info.

I'm looking for a spike bar to use in a house that gets its power/telephone lines hit by lightning regularly. Does anyone have any experience (good OR bad) with any kind of spike bars in particular that could help my desicion? I've seen cheapie spike bars and super expensive ones, and I have a sneaking suspicion that some of them are over-priced crappy ones (since spike bars are fairly low-tech), so I don't wanna use price to figure out which ones are best.

I really need a good one since I expect it to get nailed sooner or later.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

If the house gets hit a surge bar wont save it, pick the one with the better warranty

Lightning is nearly impossible to really protect against. Go with whoever will pay out the easiest.

hahahah, sorry about that. Surge Protector.

The house doesn't usually get hit, it's the phone lines. The house is out in the sticks next to a huge cow pasture, so when lightning comes, some trees and phone poles have been hit a few times. But yeah, if lightning strikes in the front lawn I'd need like a huge Faraday cage to save the computer.
