Well pretty much what title says.

Just got an apt. with gf, and she had to stay where her pc was to do some homework for school(college)

I have noticed i am feeling very petrified or terrified of staying in the apt alone. its a big 2br apt. and i cant sleep for fear of either a door opening. could be anything. If a person was in the other room. i would have no problem.

I have lived in a smaller apt. with a different girl. and i was able to sleep no problem.

i cant really say that open spaces has ever bothered me much. i useto wrestle years ago in high school..open space there didnt bother me, and open spaces such as fields also never bothers me. or even walking down a street.

Is this a problem amongst many?
i also feel very silly for asking, im a 23yr old male.

I've never really liked it.

my dream house would have a bedroom with just enough room for a bed and room to walk around it, or one of those pod-type beds.

What you are feeling is a sort of supernatural psychic unease, I hate to break this to you. I think it's not the open space itself that is bothering you, although a fear of large open spaces would be called agoraphobia.

Let me ask a few questions, if I may. How old is the apartment? What kind of people are mostly tenants there, as in older or younger? Is it near water a cemetary a hospital or a nursing home or some other place where the lost dead may wander or congregate? I ask this in all seriousness. Based on your responses, I may be able to help alleviate your fears in some way.

Oh, crap. This may be worse than I thought. Even people who pretend to meddle in psychic fields like fake psychic readers can have really bad negative vibes or karma due to all the troubled people they may see on a daily basis. But if she is a real psychic with any kind of supernatural insight at all, it could be a lot worse.

Basically what they do is comprised of 2 things. They try to tell the future or they try to talk to the dead. It's the talking to the dead part that most of them can't really control very well. Attempts to communicate with the dead, like a Ouija board in the hands of an inexperienced person can open doors of supernatural influence that should be left closed. Even Tarot cards can open this paranormal doorway in the hands of inexperienced people.

What you are sensing, as it were, is most likely her supernatural aura if she has any kind of paranormal abilities at all. But even if she is a fake, she may be attracting unwanted attention by paranormal forces she can't control. Does she also practice any voodoo types of rituals or magic that you are aware of? Because if she is also into that magical aspect, she may be casting spells or trying to enchant people that visit her as well. That would also be worse than just an average psychic living below you.

Now I am even more curious about what you know about her.

By the way, if you would prefer to PM me about this, I would be happy to talk to you. I know all too well how the peanut gallery can get around here. ;)

Hmmm. Well, if this uneasy feeling persists sort of like being watched or the hair occasionaly being raised on the back of your neck for no reason, I would want to see what kind of psychic hokus pocus she is practicing for my own peace of mind. If you are uncomfortable seeing her yourself, send your girlfriend down there for a reading and see what she says about her.

Noise is also a good repellent for disembodied spirits and entities from the other side. They also don't seem to like most modern music very much, either. And while this may sound stupid, try sleeping with some sort of a night light on. But only some paranormal entities might be distracted by the light, not all will be. Also cats make great pets in these cases, because they can sense these entities and can somehow distract and frighten most of them off. Dogs on the other hand, do not provide this paranormal relief, and will usually just cower and hide if confronted by them. This is also why you frequently see psychics with cats as pets.

And also there is frequently an increase in paranormal activity just before dawn, like 2-5 am. Not sure exactly why this is, but if you feel more uneasy during this time, you might be experiencing some sort of paranormal entity.

And as I said, you may PM me if you wish. Good luck!

define a lot in terms of sq. ft. I have never heard of anyone referring to a 2br apartment as big open space.

PS, my bedrooms is 300 sq. ft.

no, but i'll be damned if i'm letting any limb hang off the end of the mattress so that thing living under my bed can grab it and take a bite out of me

i don't like having a large empty roome either. besides the fact it seems like a waste of space i like small cozy rooms and yes i sleep better in small tight rooms then big open rooms.

You're probably just used to living in one room.

Until I was 18, I lived in one room at my parent's house. Then I lived in a one room dorm for two years. Now I'm living in a 1 bedroom apartment. I have my desk in the bedroom and I feel much more comfortable in the bedroom than in the living room. I guess I'm just not used to a multi-room dwelling. :p
