I have a friend who is a klepto. I remember this one time I was holding onto $100.00 for a friend of mine. It was in my wallet and my friend who is the klepto slept over my house. The next day my wallet was missing. Nobody else but him was in my house besides my mom. I know my mom would not steal from me as shes never had the reason to, she was well off.

How else I know he has a problem is that we slept over our friend's house once and my friend had a pager. My klepto friend stole the pager from my other friend. How do I know this? My friend was looking for his pager and kept asking us if we saw it, we both said no. My klepto friend was in a real hurry to get out of there. He kept telling me that he wanted to go. I said oh ok that's fine. We get to my house or his I can't recall and I feel a vibration going off. I was like WTF he stole the pager! And sure enough, he did.

I mean there are countless occassions of this kinda stuff that I remember. But I know he has a problem because he was well off. He had a lot of $ saved up etc etc always got what he wanted from his parents etc etc.

And talk about compulsive liars, I know tons of them. They lie for no reason, no reason at all. Just because they have to. It's sickening.
 
I knew a guy who is a compulsive liar. Maybe it's pathological.

Anyways, we were watching the Mummy once, and we wondered about the historical accuracy, and he started spouting off about "How extremely accurate" the movie was. He had "read a lot of Egyptian mythology."

We go look it up the next day, he's dead wrong. Totally off.

One time he was talking about the chrome-plated Desert Eagle his CO gave him when he left the Army. I asked him what caliber it's chambered in. "9mm." Really? They don't make a 9mm. "This was special made."

Uh-huh.

Those are two of at least....oh, I dunno....let's see, I've probably hung out with him for a good 1000 hours....he tells about 3 lies a minute...so that's....

A lot of lying.
 
I have went out with one girl who lies everytime she opens her mouth.

And my best friend lies whenever he is mad, and lies about lying, but I can tell, so its funny 🙂
 
Not currently, but i have known people in the past who were compulsive liars. And the really sad thing is, EVERYBODY knew they were always lying. So what's the point?

How did you feel the pager vibrating in your "friend's" pocket unless you had your hand on his crotch?

I was thinking the same thing..... then I deduced that he's BOTH a klepto AND a compulsive liar... he's lying about it being a "friend."

btw... how could anyone have a "friend" who they know keeps stealing from them...
 
I know a compulsive liar. When we were really young he tried to convince me that one of the rings he had recently acquired from a 25c machine was actually a trigger to a secret door in a nearby swamp. That ring apparently would be scanned by a laser and then a deep hole would open up in a tree... Anyways, I knew it was total BS but he believed it. Anyways, he also tried to convince me that he had a gilfriend once... that didn't work either. Heh.
 
Yes. He would make up facts and figures all the time. ALL the people he knew were all smart as hell, but they were very humble, so most of them instead of going to Harvard or whatnot, were going to community colleges. Not only that, he would exaggerate things to the max. He always had some relative who worked in a particular big company. Talk about Nortel, one of his relative works there, talk about Microsoft, same. He had seen a documentary (which was only shown once, mind you) about every single topic that was discussed. It was futile and aggrevating discussing anything with him.

When I am driving, i usually leave my cell phone on vibrate. Other people in the car can feel it when the phone goes off.
 
We were sitting on a bed and the pager was going off. It was in his pocket.

Why do people always add stupid comments about things?

God if you don't have anything to post about who cares?

Yes, I know a guy who lies even when he has nothing to gain from it, and even though he knows that WE KNOW he's lying.
 
And to answer why I was still friends with him? I don't know, I tend to forgive and forget easily. I let that kinda stuff slide. I can never stay mad at someone forever, it's just the way I am.
 
i don' t know anyone klepto enough to steal from friends. thats unexcusable.

i do know kleptos that um "liberate" things from stores with incredible proficiency.
 
I knew a compulsive liar and a klepto, but it turned out he was just a cocaine addict trying to feed his addiction... Oh and he was super paranoid too :frown: Stupid people who throw away their lives really piss me off :|
