I tried to track my expenses but it just became a hassle. Now I just pay everything using a single credit card and figure it out from there.

I keep an excel sheet of what I've bought for myself ever since starting work (a real job).
It's been about 3 months and I've already spent $2k =/ lol...darn bass guitar equipment is expensive!
But I don't include food, gas, or tolls. Those are like another $400/month! argh.
I live at home, so rent is free as is dinner most of the time haha.

No. I am at a point in my life where I have enough money that I don't have to worry about money so I don't keep track.
I'm not rich but everything is paid for and I no longer have the desire to spend a lot of money because I don't need anything. I can't even think of any more toys that I want.

Yeah, I'm well over $3,500 this month. Christmas shopping, computer stuff, rent, utilities, and a full tank of heating oil... That's one hell of a credit card bill!
I was just looking at some of our bank statements. We spend (taken from checking) anywhere from $3500 - $5000 every month. It's just sad.
Those numbers are all on the same transaction and only the first three repeat... Probably just a number shell uses...
So much Shell Oil... this isn't just your expenses is it ? One car ? BTW: Shell Credit Card gives you like 5% back on gas purchases.
I almost always go top the same Shell station, which is #57424361905. They do give me a small kickback. Four vehicles and none of them travel more than a few miles from here for work or errands.
I updated the transaction record back to the 17th, which puts it at Total $1850.52. That is mostly because of Christmas expenses. I'm generally NOT that spend thrifty!

in that same period of 11/17 to 12/20, i spent $2208.37. i never summed it up like that and never realized i spent that much since i pay it off before the next bill and don't run up my credit limit. that's without rent also since i don't pay for that.

I'm happy to say that I've only spent about $100 in christmas gifts and have more than made that back from working extra overtime during the busy banking season. Just in overtime alone is about $350. Received $1300 in annual bonus, $600 in quarterly bonus, and 2% raise each at both places I work.
I've been going crazy with spending in the past. I tell myself no more and recently consolidated my debts and really puts where I am financially into perspective. I'm not happy with where I am at the moment, but I've made plans to improve. If only I can stick with the gun, I'll be home free in about 5yrs
Sometimes saying "No." to yourself is the hardest thing to do. When you're tempted to buy something, think of how many man hours it would take for you to "recover". Then you'll reconsider.

3397.25 from Nov 17 to now. Includes one month's rent ($600) and Christmas stuff ($472). And I totally don't watch my money, I just piss it away until it's gone. Thank god that retirement/investment is automatically deducted from my account ;-)
ive spent close to $1000 on computer stuff in the last month. i dont usually spend a whole lot other than bills, which are about 1200 a month. lately tho, ive been spending money like its going out of style. its fun, but expensive!
