Guess I'm like most folks. I initially keep most boxes for a week or so in case I have to return an item. Then I toss it. I do have some original boxes from my stereo equipment because I move around a lot and figure that the original packing carton is best (Yamaha components and Bose 901 speakers).

I'll toss them once I retire in 2 1/2 years. Being in the military requires moving about every 3 years or so...

I usually keep the decent sized (ie small to medium) boxes. That way when I wrap gifts for birthdays/Christmas, I have plenty of boxes for that. And, much less often, they come in handy for moving and shipping stuff.

I use my stuff until it is way beyond the point where it could be resold. So the boxes are useless for that.

or if it is something expensive and small I will keep it....I try to convince my wife to keep all of the bozes her jewelery comes in but she doesn't...wish I could be more like her and not care as we would have alot more room...

I used to keep all of my boxes for computer stuff and what not but it got out of hand so now I just toss them after a few weeks.
