Do you keep crashing your car?

i've crashed each of my cars once while owning it. i figure that's enough to buy me some street cred without causing my insurance premiums to go up too much.

luckily none of them had to be totaled. and in most of the cases it wasn't even my fault, the ice patch or the deer made me do it.

No, I am not a bad.

Not that you have to be bad to crash a car, but it definitely helps.

I totaled a car when I was 19 and had a fender bender in my early 20s. Since then I have not had even a ding in more than 20 years. I spend a lot of time on the road, so even being a really good driver (I am) and even carefully avoiding crap like texting and driving (never ever) that's against the odds. I'm probably overdue.

Nope never wrecked any of my cars. But I have been hit by drunks twice years ago. Luckily no injuries to myself.

A couple fender benders on my first...didn't hurt my car, though.
Totaled my second car. Hit a bad patch of windblown snow faster than I should have.
Someone else crashed into my third. Drinking and driving is stupid enough on its own by those who do it at night. Blowing a 0.2 by noon and driving is just fucking brain-dead.

Rolled a small dump truck once. The windshield wipers completely stopped working in the middle of the highway during a downpour. I tried to take an off ramp as soon as possible, but didn't quite make the turn. That's the only one that was my fault.

My worst incidents so far: backed a Prius into a high curb at 5 km/h or less, and clipped a construction cone with my right mirror.

Haven't driven in years. Too cheap and knew statistics would catch up at some point.

I crashed a few when I was much younger and into muscle cars.<vroom-vroom>

Haven't had a vehicle accident that was my fault in over 40 years...but several that were 100% the fault of the other drivers.

The only car I crashed was a black Datsun 280zx. Me and a couple buddies were in the car and I ended up taking a turn faster than I should have. We ended up in the ditch with the drivers side quarter panel smashed to hell and the drivers side front axle snapped from the frame. I was 17 at the time maybe 18.

Never got in an accident myself, well sorta I guess, I was coming out of Wendy's, stopped waiting for traffic to clear, then some guy decides to turn right from the left/straight lane (there's two lanes coming out of Wendy's) and sideswipes me. I wanted to chase him down but there was just too much traffic for me to get out of there safely, the guy just cut all the traffic when he did that move, hitting me in the process and taking off. Could not have done much even if I did chase him though, he had a truck, I had a car. My car was maybe a year max away from being replaced so I was not THAT concerned I was just pissed off at that asshole. I also did not feel like getting into any kind of fight anyway. Somebody who sideswipes another car and takes off in rage is not exactly going to want to pull over and exchange info.

Other than that, never crashed a car.

No crashes for over 50 years. My philosophy of driving is if anything the least bit scary or that makes me nervous happens, I've made a mistake and I have to adjust my driving habits to eliminate that. No tickets in all that time either. Plus, I drive around 1500 miles/year. My insurance premiums are probably some of the lowest around, <$500/year.

I'm not a car kind of guy. My travel today was 100% by roller skates.

1500 miles per YEAR?

Damn...whe I was commuting into the SF Bay area, I drove almost that much each week...then often climbed into a truck crane and drove 50-100 miles each way to do the job.

Never really noticed how much I put per year but probably not that far from that if less. Pretty much go to work, visit family and friends, do groceries, the odd ball driving around and that's about it.
