I keep cash in my wallet, where it belongs.
This (aside from some change for parking meters)
I keep cash in my wallet, where it belongs.
So keep the cash on hand, not in the car. You don't have a wallet or murse?
Gas stations that give a cash discount don't exist here. No restaurants around here only take cash. Street parking is abundant here. Street parking is abundant here. Fair enough?I find it EXTREMELY useful to have cash on hand. Many gas stations give a cash discount vs. card. Many restaurants and stores only take cash. Many parking lots only take cash. Parking meters take cash. Etc.
I'm surprised more people don't keep cash in their cars.

If I went on a road trip, I'd take out some money for my wallet. Still no need for cash in the car. It's not necessarily for "around here". It's for when you find yourself in bumfuck West Virginia and you hand someone your American Express card and he looks at it like it was an artifact from another planet.
So if you get mugged, you'll mislead your assailant?I have $200 hidden by being sewn into a divider in my wallet for emergencies.

I've had days where I've put out $20+ in tolls. If I have exact change(at $4 a pop), I don't have wait to to get crumpled up, disease encrusted bills from the toll keeper.Still not hearing any convincing reason this money should be kept in car and not wallet. Having some cash with you is a decent idea, no earthly reason I would keep it in the car though, unless you think someone is waiting ambush you with a sack of nickels.

No, and not sure why anyone would do that.
Yeah, you know some people are sleep walkers (not me, AFAIK), but you could find yourself having driven 900 miles from home, completely naked, starving, not knowing where you are and with no resource other than your car and the money you stashed in it. Impossible? Wake up, it's not impossible, and there are thousands of other scenarios where having cash in the car could be helpful.I keep two unused credit cards in the car. Just in case I leave my house naked and need to buy clothes so I don't get arrested.
