Do you hide a spare key outside your house?

Paris Hilton stopped leaving a spare key to her house under her welcome mat after those "bling ring" jerks stole from her.
 
Yeah, in 2 places but they are hard to find. You could look for months and not find them.

Don't know... I've never been around metal detectors. However I can't imagine anyone with one trying to find my hidden keys. They are for me and placed as exigencies in case of conceivable scenarios:

1. I lock myself out (experience has shown it can happen)
2. There's a big earthquake (never been in one but could happen)

I have one set placed outside that contains every key I could possibly want/need and it's where nobody will find it and where nothing bad can happen to it and where I can access it in a minute.

I live in an apartment, I don't have the key to the building entrance buried anywhere (i'll ring a neighbour).
I have 2 keys to my apartment buried in black watertight bags in two different spots in a public park about 900 yards from where I live.

I check and relocate them once a year.

I lost one of them a couple of years ago ... there's a building on top of it now...
