Do you hide a spare key outside your house?

I made a steel box with a hand chopping guillotine inside. You have to place your hand inside and enter a 5 digit code to get the keys. Wrong code and kiss your jack off hand good bye.

Yeah, I have a lock box. What's it to you?

Under the welcome mat... because TV tells me everyone does that, no one will expect it when I do.

I hide it in the box that houses the fuse holder for the AC unit. The keypad for the garage door rarely gets used and it's possible the battery could die without us being aware of it so I hide it where I do instead of in the garage.

No. I can break into my house if need be. Most houses are trivial to get into. Locks are just psychological comfort.

I hide it in the garage, inside the tool cabinet. I can enter the garage by using the kaypad
Is your garage attached to the house? If so I don't know how much help a locked door would be. If I got into your garage I could just close it and have my way with your door... Locked or not

If you have a detached garage it makes a little more sense.

Another easy way into your house/garage is to open your unlocked car and use the garage door opener.

Yes, it's under th,.. wait a minute!

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, I'll pump you full of hot lead - the key to the death trap garage which leads to house is under the flowerpot.

NO! It's not under that obviously fake rock just to the right of my flower bed. It's not, I tell you, not! :colbert:

My parents live nearby and they have a key for emergencies, so no. Then again, it's not the best option for privacy.

This would lead you to another locked door from the garage into the house.
