Do you have the herp?

I get a cold sore about 3 times a year on one part of my mouth. Its usually small and I can cover it up with the old ladies makeup. I have been getting them since I was a kid.

i know im going ot get one because my lips get dry and it starts to hurt in one spot.

It really depends on what you mean by "the herp."

Usually it means HSV 1 and 2, which quite a few people have.

But technically it should also include herpes zoster, EBV and CMV, in which case just about everyone has it.

I'm probably an evil carrier.
My mom and wife both get them.

My wife infected our three year old, but she hasn't gotten a sore that I've seen yet
She just had the symtopms of initial infection that babies get once(blisters on the face for a couple of days).

In short my family is doing its best to continue the scourge that is Herpes simplex I

Abreva works really well.

Same here. A former gf of mine had cold sores occasionally where they would form on her lip. Fortunately I didn't catch it from her.
