You guys are making an old man very happy.

I mean, ... all you kiddies deciding NOT to have kids gives me some hope for the future of Mankind.

It's not a statement, it's a fact.

They've done studies on this shit.

"Most people assume that having children will make them happier. Yet a wide variety of academic research shows that parents are not happier than their childless peers, and in many cases are less so. This finding is surprisingly consistent, showing up across a range of disciplines."

Idiocracy was about the people who have accidental kids. Idiots have 8 accidental kids. Smart people can still have 8 kids, but they have no accidental kids.

Most of the people I know who have kids are reasonably smart. Not doctor or lawyer smart, but smart enough to hold a regular job, live in a house, own a car, and stay on top of bills. They're not trailer trash.

Idiocracy is exaggerated of course. I guess I'm just sad that the future is full of "averages."

I've just stopped caring about it. I'll be dead before anything major happens. I don't bother "going green" or anything. Earth isn't going to deteriorate in the next 50-70 years, etc. etc. Basically, as selfish as it is, if I'm not going to have to deal with it because I'll be dead then IDGAF.
