well?

I have a tendency to not want to talk to him/her, but it feels awkward as fuck to just sit there and say nothing. So usually some small chat is had, but it's sure as fuck not like the huge long "oh I did blah blah blah" over my weekend conversations that I overhear.

So, you, as a male, do you have conversations with your barber/stylist?

I am my own barber! I stopped paying for haircuts after I joined the Army and got sick of paying $8-20 bucks for a high and tight. Now that I am out of the service hard habit to cut. Plus saves $$.

I haven't gotten my hair cut in over 10 years. Curious thing is it hasn't really gotten longer either. I'm not sure where it goes. I know a bunch has fallen out, but you'd think some of it would keep getting longer :^/

I have awkward conversations during haircuts. General smalltalk. Really uncomfortable. I just want to get the hell out of there.

Indeed I do. I know that my stylist is an amateur astronomer and likes to work on cars in his off time, and he knows that I like to play pool and build computers. He also likes to talk loudly about donkey shows to see if he can make the other patrons uncomfortable. He's a cool guy.

My barber of 6 years is a 70-something Italian man named Luigi who has the best commentary on women and sex of anyone I know. Of course I talk with him!

Ugh, that's why I hate getting my hair cut. I go to sports clips and they are chicks and I hate the forced convo.

It would be different if I had the same one each time but it isn't..

No. My barber is also my local ward councilor. He does an awful job representing us in town council. Never says a word in meetings, never responds to his constituents. If I were to talk to him, I'd end up bald. 😀

Same chick cuts my hair every 4-5 weeks for the past six or seven years. Talking to chicks is normal for me, so we talk.

I go every two to three weeks, so I'm friends with the guy that cuts my hair. He's a crazy motherfucker, but he cuts my hair the way I like it and it's cheap, so I keep going. He has some crazy shit going on every time I see him.

My SO's best friend cuts my hair, so yeah we talk. Much better than the usual awkward conversations with random stylists.

Only if they initiate the conversation. I am perfectly content to sit there and say nothing.
Same here. They're just doing their job, and I can't tell anyway if they do really want to talk, or if they're just doing the friendly customer service thing in hopes of a better tip.

Back when I lived with my parents though, my sister's friend's mom had her own little hair styling/cutting business run out of her home, and we'd usually chat while I was there.

No pics.
