Nope. My house I bought back in '08 had carpet in the dining room and the pantry though. That got replaced with hardwood before anything moved into it though.

Like individual carpets, yes. Not a fully carpeted floor. The ones in there already get peed on... Can't imagine having one that can't easily be washed.

That's fucking disgusting. This place had carpet in the master bath when we bought it...we tore it out...and saw plenty of places where the 90 year old previous owner had....missed.

Some heavy scrubbing...and a coat of oil-based primer to seal the floor...smells all gone.

I didn't know this was a thing. Might as well have carpet in the garage.

youre not supposed to have carpet on bathrooms or in kitchens. when i was a kid my parents owned a bunch of condos and whenever my mom would recarpet them she would have them carpet the bathrooms. i would always tell my mom how stupid that was. every time you flush the toilet it aerosolizes the piss and crap and gets it all over the cabinets and ground and if you have carpet you cant clean that up. if you wipe a wall near a toilet, over time it gets covered with piss crystals just from that. when dudes piss at a toilet they dribble in front. what do you do if the toilet overflows, you have a disgusting mess on the carpet

We had carpet in both bathrooms when we purchased our house (18 years ago). I put ceramic tile in the master and vinyl in the other one. We also had carpet in the kitchen, but all of these things seemed to be common some years ago. Today, not so much.

Yeah, full carpet bathrooms was a style some decades back. They even had special carpet for it. Not so much anymore.

My parents do. Yuck.

They grew up in an era where "wall-to-wall" carpeting was something that was ultra-exclusive and showed signs of wealth/comfort. To this day they think that hardwood floors make a house look unfinished and cheap.

Different mindsets, I guess.

Strangely enough, my parents had linoleum in their bathrooms...but (very low pile) carpet in their kitchen and...garage.

Did in the house I had growing up. Also had it in one other house I lived in. Not by any choice. It's *only* redeeming quality is that it's not cold in the winter. But outside of that...couldn't think of a worse type of flooring for the type of use it received.

Nope, we have travertine. We have a couple small mats on the floor near the sink and outside the shower.

No kidding. That's like having carpet in the kitchen or the laundry room.

That's how my Mom's parents were and why we had carpet in our bathroom and kitchen (bleh!) growing up. It was some appeal to psuedo-luxury. None of them liked hardwood flooring.

No carpet in the house anywhere. Wife has allergies, and the stuff you find under any carpet is disgusting.
When I was putting in the hardwood, the poor dog was laying on the rug we had at the entrance to keep dust down. He needed somewhere to rest his elbows while having a chew, so we got him a 5x7 rug I can clean under.

Exactly, any room in the house that expects to see water or messy substances should have tile/stone flooring. Tile/stone is the most sanitary to clean; a non-porous inert floor that doesnt absorb spills. I dont even like hardwood in the kitchen because of the small spaces between floorboards. Whereas the grout between individual stones/tiles furthers seals the floor.

I dont mind an area rug or something but I dont want wall to wall carpeting.
