Given that a trauma trigger is loosely defined as anything that triggers a traumatic memory, I would said that most if not all people have them.

For me, every time I see a bad accident I am brought back to my time as an EMT, during which time I first responded to countless front end collisions, some of which resulted in fatalities. Not sure if that qualifies, however, as those memories don't cause me to do anything or, conversely, prevent me from taking action where necessary.

I agree with that TA/professor; especially and obviously difficult topics should be mentioned in advance (which I think is something most people have done informally for years), but there's no need to try to baby-proof adult life.
