I know a lot of famous people through my job. I have the cell phone numbers for a lot of politicians (not just local ones). After a while the novelty wears off.
 
My father met Oppenheimer at Los Alamos. It's rumored that Wm Tecumseh Sherman is an uncle however many times back that is.
 
My mom went to college with Kevin Sorbo (aka Hercules from the TV show).

One of our family's best friends is the cousin of Kevin McHale, former basketball player and former owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

One of my dad's (late) best friends was the brother of Brad Anderson, CEO of Best Buy.

Closest I have is I did an internship at Xi'an Jiaotong University in China, and I met with the university's president, who was acquainted with former president Jiang Zemin (himself an alumnus of Jiaotong University, but the Shanghai one).

i played back stage at concerts from age 9 to 18, then worked shows until i was 30. i met some very interesting people, some may actually remember me if they saw me. i have no pull with any of them, however. but i have bbqed with alice cooper, drank with motley crue, ozzy and various other bands. i also helped carry steven tyler when he collapsed offstage after a show at compton terrace after his rehab return.


other than that, i know some various govt officials with some power, but no one really publicly notable.

i knew chris oldam from the cards and steelers, met him thru his wife who was in school with my wife. pretty decent guy.

My friend Johnny did an internship at Xi-an Jiaotong University in 2008.

Also, I forgot to add: My friend Johnny's frat brother has Chad Kroeger's (Nickelback lead singer) phone number and prank calls him a couple times a month :laugh:
 
Not likely. Though I do know someone (not very well mind you) that had Bill Clinton at his bachelor party.

Interesting. XJTU is a big university, though, and I was gone by summer 2007, so there's no chance I ran into him. Still, that's kind of a cool little connection.

Not really a show off thread, just to see what kind of connections ATOT'ers have. Just because I know these people, I don't get free shit, or do I really get anything out of it. I just think its a small world.
 
My wife has one uncle that is a movie producer, one that is a "very" high up in the FAA, and one uncle that does the lighting design for a ton of Hollywood people. And they all love her. I come from a fairly lower middle-class family so you should have seen my face when we got the wedding gifts. I almost sh!t my pants.

My wife's uncle is Howie Mandel.

I used to live next to an ex-politician in Korea who got busted for corruption.
