Just found out my work wife is leaving the company. Its a sad day. Nothing sexual just a lot of good jokes, stories and banter

I have both. Actually one wife and two husbands. I'll lose one husband to retirement in the next few years. And the wife is always talking about finding a new job in a different location. I will be sad when either/both leave.

I mostly work by myself, and sometimes work with the boss. I fantasize about fighting the the draftsman for a transfer of half salary. Bare knuckle, anything goes street fight. I really just want to beat the shit out of him. The extra money would be icing on the cake.

Yea. I've been hearing the term a lot lately. It's like a best friend at work, though you may or may not see them after hours.

They tend to be of your preferred partner gender and it your work doesn't need to be related. In my case we will will occasionally collaborate on projects\issues or go to the same meetings but most of our work is unrelated. We have a lot of inside jokes, will chat for a while in each others office, sometimes have lunch together and occasionally grab drinks after work.

I have a work husband I guess, LOL. I get along with him really well and we talk a lot. He actually was gonna leave for another job about two years ago but they amazingly got him to stay (they offered more money and met his other requests I guess). I was happy cause we're homies and he knows so goddamn much of the system he'd be a huuuuge loss. We'll definitely struggle somewhat when he does leave (he ain't stickin around too much longer, I think).

I too am sad my work husband is going to another group. We always banter about why Star Wars engineers suck so bad. But before he left, he helped interviewed his replacement and the new guy seems like he can kick some a so hope it’ll be not a big loss.

yes, i've had two. they were both women about 25-30 years older than me.

for some reason i just get along with older women really well at work, even ones that are cranky and that other people have trouble interacting with. i've been pulled into i don't know how many meetings just to act as a liaison for these ladies.
