I do the same.

I could be in a meeting, working on something really important, doesn't matter. I have to jump on that and side track myself on purpose.

That's actually called good multitasking.

In the beginning it was an annoying strain that clouded my thoughts because my subconscious hadn't really figured out how to manage it yet. Now I just rail right through it as fast as someone is talking and 'visualize' the totals being counted.

The 2's and 3's thing isn't that bad but when my brain starts tallying up the totals for each subset and then tries to correlate the different piles of information that's when I have problems and get distracted from the person talking.

When I listen to any kind of music or sound where the volume control has numerical values, I always make sure that the number it stops on is an even number. I have no idea why I do this, but I do :shocked: Drives me crazy if it's stuck on like, 13,15,17, etc. Must be 12,14,16, etc.

Anyone else?

lol, i have the same exact habit.. weird, but i find even numbers to be good and odd numbers to be evil

Creepy, but I'm the same way too ...

I thought it was alone on this one. Weird.

My fiance knows that I'm strange (it's no secret). So one day he asked me if I thought of different colors for letters and if numbers had personalities (i.e., if the way they looked reminded me of a specific trait). I answered yes, duh, and he explained this to me. I was shocked. I even said A was red!

Maybe I'm just nuts. I fidget a lot too.

I also have to do things an even number of times. Like biting down on food, pressing my fingertips together, and reading a certain amount of pages in a book before putting it down for the night. It's a bit strange I suppose.

After rereading my post, I sound like I'm completely bonkers. I'm not - generally most of this stuff goes unnoticed and I do it without realizing it.

Yup. I do the exact same thing.

I also always get into the shower with my right foot first. Even if that means I have to do a 180 once I'm in to be facing the water.

LOL. I do that too! I never think twice about it because The way my bathroom is aligned makes it easy, but when I go anywhere else I always put the right foot in first. :laugh:

I flush before I finish urinating...I have no idea why as it usually results in having to flush twice. It's like I want my piss to end at the same time the flush is ending.

Not really a habit but it is something I just can't control. When I was six years old, my grandfather(a doctor) took me to a barber shop. The barber accidentally cut the top part of my ear. I was gushing blood from it.

To this day, I have a REALLY tough time getting my hair cut. Even if they are using electric clippers, anytime it gets near my ear, I have to use all my power not to twitch or move.

i do the exact opposite, must be an odd number.

Likewise... but I also avoid multiples of 5. Not with volume, though, but with most any other sort of digital display.

I tend to put things in a certain way, for example the location of the mouse wire connected to the laptop. It has to be placed in a certain orientation to the laptop, and more importantly, the desk as well. I can't think of any others though, right now.

LOL! Im like this too... never really thought about it until now :Q

Since I can remember I have always associated days with colors, and in my mind they are

Sunday = Brown
Monday = White
Tuesday = Light blue
Wednesday = Red
Thursday = Yellow
Friday = Green
Saturday = Dark blue

I think it might have to do with something from elementary school though, because I remember that we used to paint the days when someone missed or something.. gah it was too long ago, memory is fuzzy :p but it makes sense that it made me used to seeing days like that

Oh and btw a weird habit of mine I dont know anyone else doing... Youll probably think its freaky but... when listening to songs I like, I tend to replicate the drum pattern by clashing my teeth LOL its softly though, no one would notice unless I told them, but its fun, I got amazing coordination with teeth because of that

I spin my pen. All the time. I can't help it. No matter what I am doing, walking, talking, etc, If I have a pen in my hand, I will spin it.

When a relative of mine meets a person for the first time and hears their name, he'll add up all the letters in their name (A=1, Z=26) and come up with the average letter. Oh, and he does all this in a split second.

I chew on soda bottles/cans after they're empty. I break off the tab from cans and chew on it and break it apart. I pull the plastic ring off from around the mouth of bottles and chew on it. Sometimes chew on the empty can itself and put holes and tears in it with my teeth...... I've chipped dental work doing this and still can't seem to stop.

wow... i feel pretty sane after reading most of these.

I will always cough when someone else coughs or says the word "cough". Like it reminds me, you need to clear your throat.

Me and my girlfriend sleep with 1 long body pillow laid across the top of the bed with each of our own individual pillows on top of that. If the mattress slides forward the slightest bit, then I cannot fall asleep for the fear of the body pillow partly falling into the crevice. It drives me crazy, and it drive my girlfriend crazy that I will make her get up so I can fix the whole ordeal. I've even tried to confront it, and make myself fall asleep. At about 2am I gave up and fixed it.

All of the products I use in the morning in/around shaving and showering, the bottles are lined up in order that I use them. Furthermore, they go from shortest to tallest. I can't explain how they all line up like that AND are shortest --> tallest, other than psychologically I purchased them that way. :confused:
