I'll start.

When I listen to any kind of music or sound where the volume control has numerical values, I always make sure that the number it stops on is an even number. I have no idea why I do this, but I do  Drives me crazy if it's stuck on like, 13,15,17, etc. Must be 12,14,16, etc.

Anyone else?

I used to watch a heldpesk queue for two years and when easy fixes came in I had to jump on the right away, regardless of what big thing I was doing or working on. Now that I'm doing more project related work, when I see that an email comes in that is an easy one sentence or yes\no answer I have to jump on it and reply. I could be in a meeting, working on something really important, doesn't matter. I have to jump on that and side track myself on purpose.

Yes. Whenever I'm reading or listening, I automatically count all the letters in multiples of ten. Spaces and punctuation do not count.

When people talk to me and the letters used in their complete sentences total to multiples of ten, I like them more.

This started about 9 years ago and I can't stop it. Since it's become subconscious at this point, I've also begun 'listening' to other people in 3's and 7's as well. It is really annoying.

You must hate yourself then, to pick a username that is only 9 letters.

my savings account balances have to end in rounded up numbers. for example if theres $3000.00 in my savings and after the monthly interest its now $3001.47, ill take that $.47 and throw it in my checking account. since i get a certain number of savings-to-checking transactions a month and i get paid on the last day of the month i dont feel as bad for wasting one of the allotted number of savings-to-checking transactions i can do.

but since i have two savings accounts with the bank, if one ends with $.63 and the other is $.40, ill move $.37 to the $.63 account and ill transfer the remaining $.03 to the checking like in the previous example. what can i say, when i log in online i want to see rounded up numbers on my savings accounts.

edit: oh, and lets not forget my habit of making all my posts in lowercase (unless im quoting someone, which ill then use a quote box). if its only a quick line and i just use quotation marks, ill convert the whole line to lowercase.

When I brush my teeth, I have to let the water run. It drives me insane if I'm brushing my teeth and the faucet is not on.

I'm not crying out for attention here just being a realist, I've convinced myself that I'm a lesser class of human. For example I convince myself that even though I excelled in school and have always been the best worker for each of my past employers (letters of recommendation substantiating this) that for some reason I 'don't deserve' promotions or raises. It's really bizarre but I've sought out help and no one can seem to fix it.

I can't always remember someone's name, but I will remember how many characters long it is and sometimes a pattern of characters. I will never mix up the names Mary/Marie/Maryann/Marianne but I might get Janet's name confused with Carol because they are both 5 characters long and have the same consonant-vowel-consonant-vowel-consonant pattern. I don't do it consciously.

It's not so much a habit of mine as it is one I've noticed in others. I don't know if this is relevant, but many of my best friends over the years have been people who thought highly of themselves and were really cocky. Anyway when I walk down the street with these people, I started to notice they would always want to leave me like 1 foot of sidewalk and block the rest out with their body.

So I started walking in a straight line (following the crease in the sidewalk), this straight line was about 1/4 the way in the middle of the sidewalk, about where a person should be walking if with another person. I noticed that my friend would actually keep bumping into me, trying to push me over to the side. I'm not sure if they consciously do this as some sort of pissing contest, or if it just an ingrained part of their egos, or maybe their right foot is bigger than their left. Weird.

Because of this I've noticed I really like people who know how to walk with another person. Like, they move to give you room to move if another person is walking towards you. The same people who try to push me over to the edge of the sidewalk would also let me get picked off by oncoming walkers, they'd brush shoulders with the oncoming person instead of moving over with me.

I've worked out this complex system of etiquette in my head because I had to deal with this every day and it started to get on my nerves.

edit: one guy was the absolute worst.. he would always walk down the middle of the sidewalk. It was funny because I did my 1/4 crack rule and he would literally be walking a foot in front of me with his head turned around having a conversation with me. So it was really obvious he had to walk in the middle.

I only use warm water to brush and rinse. Some people find this odd for some reason. I also tend to repeat myself if I'm stressing a point... a point.

when I think about days of the week, letters or numbers a color flashes into my mind. Tuesdays are dark blue, Fridays are red, 2s are green and so forth.

*edit* Damn I thought I was just crazy wiki

One of my teeth decided to go crooked on its own. Went to an oral surgeon and had all 4 wisdom teeth removed hoping it would help (and because I had to). Tooth still crooked. I find myself pushing against it sometimes in a feeble attempt to straighten it out. You can't really tell if you look but when it's attached to you 24/7 it's pretty obvious.

I do something similar, but with people. I associate everyone I know with blue, red, or yellow.

I also have a habit where I will tap one foot (for whatever reason), but now feel off kilter, so I have to tap the other foot. Simple, no problem, right? Weeellllll, since I started with foot A (right or left, doesn't matter) and ended with foot B, I now have to reverse the order and tap again, so I get a pattern like this

A,B

Then

B,A

Then from there I have to reverse that order and tap my feet like this:

B,A,A,B

Then from there:

B,A,A,B,A,B,B,A

and then:

A,B,B,A,B,A,A,B

I can usually stop it there, but in the past, I've got as far as 16 taps each session.

whew, I thought I was going mad. My gf likes to turn the faucet off to conserve water. If my mouth weren't full of toothpaste, I'd yell at her like "WTF ARE YOU DOING WOMAN"
