Depends on how much power the TV uses!

I just have an APC 500 (or something) hooked to my HDTV. It's kept it going for about 10-15 min. before during power outages. All of my PCs are on APC Office UPS devices, my receiver, my DVD players, my sat. receivers (when I had them), and a few lamps.

just my computers, not the tv

but my wife's computer has a tv card, and it attached to a UPS, so i guess that sorta counts?

Often times when my power goes dead, the cable goes dead with it... so there is little point.

However, assuming I eventually get DirecTV... I'll be running it on a UPS for sure.

E-Bay is great for getting powerful used UPS's cheap.

Yep, but just because I got some extras for pretty cheap. I guess they are kind of going to waste, but it is nice to know they are there.

I'm not sure I see the point. A UPS is there to let you shut the machine down properly. Not really a problem with a TV.

yes, I have UPS's on just about everything. I have more UPS's than I have a use for, so why not. BTW, according to Powerchute my 20" TV and VCR keep the load around 6-10% on an APC Back-UPS Pro 650.

Imagine you're watching the final game in the play-off or something. Your friends are all there and then BAM! Power outage! UPS to the rescue.
