I've only been contacted once. But they obviously had idiots working HR.
How do you shoot me a sales-related position offer, where my experience lies in IT?
I'm not even certain that profile was real & legitimate to person I spoke to on the phone.

I had one, but apparently they thought "fluffer" was some sort of made-up profession and it was summarily deleted.

I have one, though I'm employed and use it to have our company viewed as an expert. It mostly seems like a place people go to subtly sell their services though.

I've been on LinkedIn for a few years. Paid & free, no difference. I see few interesting articles & some occasionally interesting discussion. I found 1 old college bud by accident. It does seem to be a place for HR & headhunters to post ... logically. Otherwise, meh

The world doesn't really seem ready to network with people thru the net in the same way as face to face tho. LinkedIn is not the duality to match.com :whiste:

Yes, I get contacted about jobs which is surprising as all I have is my position title, where I work and for how long I've been there.

Sort of, had a soft offer then they got bought out and since I am not looking now I usually just reply with a thanks but no thanks.

Yes, but I lost the password to it awhile ago so all it does is spam my inbox with "news in your field this week" stuff I know7, I could just go reset the password, but I haven't bothered. I'm not looking for a job, I'm quite satisfied with mine, and the profile info in there is fairly current anyway, so I haven't bothered with it.

On the last two questions, no, I've never gotten contacted through there for anything. I got my job via recommendation by a friend when my employer was looking for someone a couple years ago.
