I don't expect my military ID to get me out of a ticket - but I keep an extra military ID in my auto information trifold.

Only douche bags show their military id when they get pulled over and most times they still end up getting a ticket.

I was an MP in the Army for a few years, and I got off with a warning on all but one ticket (including an 83-in-a-55mph zone). Of course, that was probably due more to being an MP than being a soldier.

We still get tickets when we get pulled over if a ticket is warranted.
Occasionally, the cop will be ex-military himself and let you off with a warning, but thats not really that common.
Almost everybody doesn't know how to drive in Phx.
