do you have a high tech home?

Well my home is really cool! When you turn the silver knobs on the sinks or tub, water comes out. And if you turn the knobs on this big white thing with a door in the kitchen, it will heat up food to eat. I know, your all jealous of me aren't you... 😉

lets see... i have a computer, a tv, a microwave, fridge, electric can opener, oven, washer, dryer, electric toothbrush... no high tech here 🙁

i'm in college gimme a break!

LOL GF, actually I had a silly impulse and had just about everything in my old apartment set up through my computer - could turn the coffeemaker on and off, dim the lights, control the stereo, all sorts of goofiness. After all the elaborate thought and planning I almost fell over laughing at myself when I realized that everything I'd hooked up could be REACHED from my computer almost....it was a darned small apartment. 😱 Sometimes you can overtech yourself to the point of ridiculousness. 😀

I STILL hook my christmas tree up to the computer though, just 'cause I can't help myself. 😛

Whoa, you can hook a tree up to your computer? I didn't know that! I was crawling behind the damn thing every night, trying to get it unplugged and getting pricked in the process for nothing? Dammit, I need to learn more about these machines.... 😛

Hehehehehe well I HAD to find a legitimate use for those goofy X10 units that I buried myself with when I lurked in the Hot Deals forum!!!!! 😀

Interested in purchasing one or two? Or twenty? LOL

My home is minorly automated. I didn't do it myself, it came that way. We have solar panels on the roof that collect energy during the day to heat the pool, and to some degree the water heater. The pool automatically fills itself with water regularly, cleans itself, turns itself on and off. The garden lights turn on automatically based on the ambient light, along with several motion sensor lights on the steps, etc. Electronic insect repellents are also installed on the patios and inside in the house (they don't work that great IMO) You can use most any phone in the house to control the thermostat, security system, outside gates, outside lights, some rudimentery audio controls (built-in audio system sucks), turn on the pool, and even the waterfall. There are remotes for the fireplace, but they aren't hooked up to the phone system for some reason. There are a lot of motion sensors in the house that can control lighting, but I don't use them much b/c if you are sitting still, it's annoying when the lights go out.. Things I wish were in the house were: Cat.5 networking cable run throughout the house, a "smarter" kitchen, etc. Basically I bought the house from a bunch of lazy, old people. They didn't install much "cool" automation, but they did a lot more then I ever would.

A TV in every room.. 5 computers, 4 of which are recent. Uhm, does having 3 cars make it high tech? I dunno. 😕

High Tech? Humm...not really the only thing that is high tech is my PC or maybe the fish tank. 😉 I love my little Tiger Oscars.

Well, I now have Cat5 through a few walls. 3 computers, 2 of which are recent. 4 T.V.'s (3 for bedrooms, 1 for family room) 3VCRs to go w/ that. N64, and this big green dodecahedron that shoots out sparks when we say "Martians suck"'

If loads of UTP cable, power cords etc. on the floor, five PC's (three actually work), a TV, VCR, computerparts everywhere and a stereo is called high-tech, then yes, this room is high-tech 😉

The rest of the house is still old-fashioned, but well, only this room is mine... 🙁
