Do you have a favorite B movie?

Thats not a b-movie, that is a spoof of several b-movies and movie genres in general.
(great)B-movies are fliks like
Dr. Strangelove
Rocky horror
Little shop of horror (the original one)
The Blob
and so on.

Tommy Wiseau's magnum opus The Room.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 The Movie. It's a b-moving in a b-movie.

Almost a cliché choice, but mine is Plan 9 from Outer Space. It has it all - grade-school special effects, ridiculous dialogue ("This man has been murdered. And one thing is for sure - SOMEONE is responsible!"), an actor who died early in filming replaced by a real-life chiropractor who covered his face with a cape to not make it obvious he wasn't the real actor, sets made from stuff bought at Sears (the shower curtain that divides the spaceship areas), scenes change from day to night and back to day unexplainedly.

Close second is Robot Monster. The alien is someone in a gorilla suit wearing a deep-sea diver helmet. Another ridiculous plot, yet it was John Carpenter's favorite movie as a kid.

Most of mine are horror:

The Stuff
Basket Case
Return of the Living Dead
Toxic Avenger
C.H.U.D.
Maniac

Love all of those.

I'm fond of the late 70 and early 80's Sci-fi/Fantasy action movies that tried to capitalize on the success of Star Wars. My favorite is probably Battle Beyond The Stars, although Ice Pirates is pretty good as well. Other notable films include Hawk the Slayer, Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone, Ator The Fighting Eagle.

There is also a special place in my heart for the inline skate dystopia films like solarbabies and Prayer of the Rollerboys. Although I doubt either of them are actually B movies, they just bring the B camp to large budget films.
