Do you have a battery powered shaver (ie Gillette Fusion power, M3 Power, etc)

I've used an M3 Power in the past, but I never used the battery powered function. I've been using a Fusion Power for a while now, and I decided to shave with it turned on... I really think it just made it harder to shave.

Does anyone actually find it beneficial?

I'm willing to bet some folks may find the motoriser thing useful for other effects not related to shaving. ;)

QFT! *shiftyeyes*

I have a Mach 3 Fusion Power Phantom, and i hate the power function. i just shaved today, and i swear it creates about twice the friction on my skin and against the hair then it does powered off.

+1, I noticed a significant difference with the M3 Power. Have not tried the Fusion. Sucks that blades get more and more expensive. I've got a bunch of free Shick Quattros I'm using now but I do miss my M3 Power.

Using a Fusion, it seems to be a little easier to shave, I don't know about a smoother result, but it seems to glide a bit better. it doesn't help that I shave maybe once a week :p.

I have an M3 Power, or whatever it's called. Wife got it for me.

What makes it better is not the little buzzer in the handle, but the stuff they put on the blades. I don't know if it's aloe, or some mixture, but I have much less "rawness" after using one of those blades, regardless of which handle I put them on.

Much better than the standard Mach 3 Turbo blades.

Your leg hair makes that much air resistance??

Naw. Most of the time us cyclists shave is either as a psychological thing (the idea of moving through the air with less resistance), or as a pre-emptive measure: massages feel better, and it's easier to clean and bandage road-rash when your legs are shaved.

I've never thought of it as an aero thing -- it's all about comfort and massage. Plus the few times I crashed pre-shaving days, cleaning the hairy wound really sucked.

Where's the option for I use one of the non powered varients, and have never tried the powered ones because they do not work.

Funny that this was mentioned today as I just cracked open a fusion power this morning (for the first time)...

Power seemed to cause the razor to go over the hair easier, however, it wasn't really cutting it. It sorta reminded me of the beavis and butthead episode where they glued on beards to their faces. It got all patchy like that, so I turned the freaking thing off and did it the normal way and got all the hair. Will be leaving it off in the future.

I've tried the Fusion and never have I experienced a more uncomfortable shave in my life. With the vibrating off, it felt as though my hairs were being PULLED out of my face. With it turned on, it was the same but a little more painful and annoying.

I shaved (if you can call it that) about a 1" x 3" area, put it back into the holder, brought it back to Costco and got my $20 back which I spent on cartridges for my trusty Mach 3. Frankly, I would rather use a Bic disposable face hacker than try that peice of crap Fusion again.

Only thing it is meant to do is numb the surface of the skin a little. On a cold shave, I find that the vibrations causes nicks. If I shave after a shower, I find the vibrations actually help get a closer shave.

Pacfanweb -- There isn't any aloe on the blades, I obviously cannot tell you what exactly is done, but the blades on the M3 and Fusion power have less physisorbed material on them causing less drag for at least the first shave.

I liked the Fusion...never had an issue.

Fishing lures of course. Everyone knows that fish (and things that smell like fish in general) love something that buzzes around. :p

I like the power Fusion thing. It certainly doesn't cut any worse than the non-motorized razor. FWIW, I have pretty thick beard growth.
