Xp is better and faster since it has more threads than 2000 but it is friendlier for home users since XP is based on 2000 Professional

right-click My Computer

Advanced --> Performance settings button --> Visual Effects --> Adjust for best performance, or just uncheck "Use visual styles for taskbar and buttons"

Also, right-click the taskbar, click properties, click the start menu tab, and click use classic start menu.

Nice tip on nlite, I'll have to give that a try sometime. Now if only we could just remove windows from itself...

Still hate XP and yet I use it, I try to make XP look as much as Windows 98/2000 because XP has a lot of garbage. I only like XP because of it's compatibility with older programs compared to Windows 2000.

How do you remove the multi-users display at Win XP startup? I prefer the WIn2K automatic logon since I am the only user on my PC.
