Do you hate these ridiculous email forwards?

For instance...

Case 1: Kelly Sedey was proposed to. She then got this email. She deleted it. That night she got a call about her fiancee. He was in an accident and died.

Case 2: Take Katie Robinson. She received this poem and being the believer that she was she sent it to a few of her friends but didn't have enough e-mail addresses to send out the full 10 that you must. Three days later, Katie went to a masquerade ball. Later that night when she left to get to her car, she was killed in that spot by a hit-and-run drunk driver.

Case 3: Some loser with no life read this email. After forwarding it, he got a job within the next 45 minutes, and happened to bump into his high school sweetheart. They got married after 3 days of dating and now have 3 children.

Damn these things piss me off. :|

I usually send back a semi-nasty Reply-All message along (with a Snopes link if applicable) in hopes of stemming the flow of stupidity.

Yeah, those are pretty dumb...

Change them all around, with names of the people that sent it too you getting done in the butt... and forward on to all their friends...

the worst luck of all comes to those who get crappy email forwards and then post them on internet message forums, many a tree has fallen on these sad souls. beware.

I don't get them. I don't give me email address to morons.

I give them the benefit of the doubt to prove themselves... but, once they've proven to me that they're morons, the "reply all" gives everyone the chance to see the proof. I only hope that along the way an additional 10 or 20 people also come to the realization that they're morons as well. Snopes links, etc. work great.

I remember really ripping into one person for a virus warning that requested me to delete actual parts of Windows (because if those files are there, they are viruses!)

I was in a bad mood, and was particularly abbrasive and sarcastic... but I didn't recognize the name. Unfortunately, it was someone I had a business contact with in the past (a realtor) - and the "reply all" went to all of her contacts. She tried to save face with a "I don't know what he's talking about... I got this from a very reputable source." Which I followed with about 20 links and the suggestion "since your reputable source is no longer reputable, perhaps you can use any of a number of search engines to find the truth. Since it appears at this point that you failed to attempt that, I provided plenty of links to credible sources - not an unknown to us source."

I fvcking hate em all. But since I'm in high school, I'd just be seen as an ass for giving Snopes links or any other form of discredit to the source.

doesn't matter how old you are... you tend to be viewed that way. It seems that any time you prove someone wrong and make them look like a moron - not that they aren't, since they're forwarding those emails - someone's bound to perceive you as an ass.

ouch.

I stopped getting those after... about 3 months of ever being on the Internet. It was the Hotmail ones that I kpet getting. I replied all (some 800 people) and yelled at 'em for sending me such obvious crap. Haven't gotten another yet.

I hate forwards period... scrolling through nine thousand e-mail address to get to the actual message and find out it's the dumbest thing you've ever read.
