Oh God! I hate getting stuck behind smelly old women who take forever to write checks! Why can't they just use a goddam debit card? :|

Credit is often as fast as or faster than cash. Debit is pretty fast too. Checks are NOT fast.

Ever use a credit card at Target? You can put your card in, sign your name, and get your card back before they even finish scanning your order. All you have to do is approve the final price and it prints your receipt.

I wish people would get with the times and give up the checkbooks.

Heck most of the check writers don't even open their purses until they see how much the bill is and then out comes the checkbook.

When I was a check writer I had everything filled in except for the amount.

Is that hard to do?

actually why are you even in the store,

why are you are wasting your precious time, and it seems by your rant even wasting a minute of your time causes you horrible pains by being in the store and havign to deal with people...

you should have ordered everything on line and have it delivered...think of the multitude of things you could have done by having someone else bring it to you...

and checkout is a breeze online...no line at all no peopel to look at smell or get mad at...

and yes you can order gorceries on line as well.

Doesn't bug me at all. Lots of places still charge fees to GET the check cards, and some places still charge fees for USING them.

I have a checkbook, I use it often for paying for stuff at school (since it's a High School, they don't take credit/debit, and DESPISE handling cash)

I save the carbons for balancing LATER.

Well at Sears you must use a check or cash to make CC payments, so that has made me more used to people writing checks everywhere. If they choose not to use debit that's their choice.

What I DO hate, though, is when women get to the counter, and THEN fiddle through their purse to find their billing statement, and their checkbook, and a pen, and then write it all out, very slowly. You should have all that prepared ahead of time, and some people don't give a fvck if they make other people wait ten minutes for them to sort through their purse. :roll:

I especially love it when some old lady in front of you stands there for a few minutes while her groceries are being rung up.. doing nothing.. then finally the cashier says that will be 76.34.. THEN she feels its time to start rumaging through the purse. Can't they at least get the check filled out except for the amount? maybe she thought it was free today?

I've NEVER used a check in a store. not to mention all the balancing and extra entries in the check book... ughh.
hate it. Credit cards are so easy.. I pay them off every month, plus I get 1-5% back.
