Do you hate it when people throw away perfectly good food?

Sorry, I guess my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I'll come by and scrape the table scraps from my plate to yours next time.😛

I am not talking about bits of food left on a plate after a meal (although if a significant mount is left, saving it is preferred).

When we have buffets at this banquet place I work, I cringe every time the event's over. They throw away TONS of food... we could probably feed over 50 homeless people for a week with the amount of food we throw away...

So if someone reached into your fridge, took out a carton of good milk and poured it out, you wouldn't care?

I'd care on the premise that is was mine, and I was free to use it. If someone else reaches into their own fridge and pours a perfectly good carton of milk onto their lawn it wouldn't bother me in the slightest. Unless I wanted some, then I'd be a little annoyed that they had gone out of their way to be a jerk 😛

But on general principle? No, I couldn't care less.

I don't know....I do hate seeing people waste food, but yeah, if it was yours.

For instance, lets just say you have a roommate. You brought some food home the other night (take-out) but didn't finish it all. He bought some other stuff from the store, but couldn't find room in the fridge, so he threw your food out.

Would you care?

Damnit, this isn't about food bought at a resteraunt.

What is it about then? That cow I killed the other day in my front yard and left to rot? Sorry, she moo'd at me the wrong way. 😉

Then why don't you? I'm sure if you get in touch with your local soup kitchen or charity, that if you gave them schedules I'm sure they would find people that would even come and pick it up for you on location - you wouldn't even have to deliver it to them.

Yeah, because it's my stuff, not because it's a waste of food. I'd be pissed off if he threw away, say, some of my socks, too.

That's the problem, I never know when we're having a buffet until I get there that day, which is already too late.

Fortunately, I've only worked two buffets during my career there.

Its not a dumbass question you fvckwit.

Eitherway, it has been answered. Apparently most of you don't care, which doesn't entirely surprise me.

Are you anti-SUV because you think that they are an example of unnecessary over-consumption? (considering many drivers don't need such a large/powerful/gas guzzling vehicle)

no, americans are mostly fat enough anyways, they need to eat less.

All they do is throw out perfectly good food, then buy more to replace it. It just doesn't make sense to me.
