I hang out with a combination of both, but I definitely prefer the company of people who just "go with the flow".

Mostly the latter. There are many times that my friends and I all agree that we need someone that has an opinion - someone to get things started.

I've found the thing that creates a boatload of tolerance for opinionated people is if they're good at their job/interests and in supporting mine. You can cuss each other out about ignorant beliefs all day as long as the job/goal is met.

The two options aren't mutually exclusive. I prefer those that are strongly opinionated, but that do generally "go with the flow".

I dont hang out.
I make disgusting opinions until people cant stand to be around me.
Then I go home and play video games.

I generally end up hanging around opinionated people. The people who go with the flow bore me.

Personally, I am both - I'm highly opinonated and I usually go with the flow. It is rare that I'll fight the battle (in person) and state my opinion. It just isn't worth the effort. If someone wants to tell me that the tooth fairy is real and that fairy is why Easter eggs hatch from rabbits, I'll just sit back and laugh inside. There usually isn't a reason to tell them to their face that they are wrong.

However, if anyone ever blatently says that I'm wrong, I'll fight that battle to the end and come back the next day with 10 studies showing my point.

I never really make the distinction. Either you have good valid arguments or you're talking out of your ass.

Yea...dumb assumption. Anyway, I generally hang out with other opinionated people.

I had an ex who couldn't handle any sort of a debate. If you tried to have a perfectly rational discussion with her where your views weren't eye to eye, she thought it was a fight and got upset. THat was annoying/
