I use the faucet mounted Brita water filters but Ive already bought two within a year and the second one just broke on me, this time the stupid cheap plastic nozzle broke apart when I unscrewed it (was leaking). Anyone know of better ones out there, the cheaper the better of course but Im willing to pay alot more if it can last at least a few years.

I did use one for about 2 yrs, but the filter itself was expensive to replace and it just became a hassle being in the way all the time. So I went back to regular ol' faucet water.

Not the case in NYC or it could be just my apartment building. I unscrewed the nozzle (new 3 months ago) and it was completely clogged and brown. Once in awhile, luckily not too often you can actually see a brown tint to the water

Reverse osmosis unit at my house, have a straight R/O faucet on kitchen sink, and have it plumbed into my fridge where it hits another charcoal filter for tasteless ice & cold water.

I've got a sediment pre-filter and a regular floss filter down on the outlet of my 1500 gal holding tank for my house. Don't bother to filter in the house usually. We have good well water.

I have a sediment filter and a treatment filter (acidity) out at the well. Under the sink and going to both refrigerators, I have a two stage string filter that goes to a separate spigot on the sink.

I do it somewhat for taste, but also for the lead pipes (both our house pipes and some of the city pipes)
