I'm in the process of looking. I know someone that got a great offer and took it (100K) on monster. I in the past have used it and got a lot of BS calls. Any information here???

Just know that if you put your phone # on your resume, you will get 50 calls from Insurance and other sales jobs.

I found my current job on Careerbuilder.com (actually, they texted me about it). I also like Indeed.com since it consolidates them all into one.

Careerbuilder, monster, craigslist, usajobs.gov. You need to go on as many of these as possible and yes you will get BS calls and emails.

I found that careerbuilder and monster.com are for people who have 6+ years experience... ymmv

I had a friend who was working on a "Masters" from the University of Phoenix and (unsurprisingly) had a 4.0 after a few courses. He put his resume on Monster and got a call from one of those financial scam companies offering him a position as a "Manager." The sad part is that my friend thought it was because of his GPA and he was so awesome. D:

To the OP: I got my last job off of Monster, but I got my current job because an unemployed friend mentioned me to his headhunter and the headhunter got me in the door. Competition to work at this place is intense so I was glad I got the opportunity.

Craigslist here. It was the bees knees 3-5 years ago. Now its a lot of BS. I get trolled hard at monster for job shops, never a real job offer.

monster and careerbuilder I'm skeptical of because those sites rely on massive traffic; not to say that it's completely useless, but that it seems quantity > quality on those sites.

indeed is an internal job posting site, and usajobs is the site for govt. jobs (in fact, that's how I got my current job w/ federal govt).

best wishes. just keep in mind that online job sites shouldn't comprise your entire jobhunting strategy; and of course, networking / connections > cold-calling or mass-resume sending. sounds obvious but not everyone demonstrates it...
