Do you guys think my comp will be able to play games @ 1680x1050?

2GB DDR-500 @ 3-4-3-7


I want to play F.E.A.R., HL2, Quake 4, etc. Is my system up to it? I get ~4200 in 3dmark06. My 20WMGX2 will be here tommorow and I want to know if I'll get decent framerates.

Probably. I can run HL2 fine at 1680x1050, Quake4 I can sort of stumble through at that resolution, but FEAR is a no go, however. I have a 6800GT (at Ultra speeds) so I imagine you should have an easier time with that resolution...

Quake 4 and HL2 should be smooth but you will have to turn down some FEAR settings.

gaming at 1280x1024 is a more viable option

HL2 shouldn't be a problem, but the other 2 games, specifically FEAR might not do so well. Maybe with all settings turned down they will be playable.

1280x1024 is the res of my 730B, the one i'm replacing with the 20WMGX2.

you should be able to (excluding FEAR)....i'm running HL2 very smoothly (lowest is around 70fps, while average is probably 90) with a X800GTO2 all maxed settings at 1680x1050
