Do you guys spend time on coupons?

I was pretty happy this weekend when I could stack two coupons and get two sticks of the deodorant I use for free. (Sadly I couldn't stack a third coupon to be given money for buying them). We'll make a grocery list and then go through the grocery app and the coupons they mail us to see if any of them are useful. And I'll do similar things for car washes, pet supplies etc.

I won't spend time on the paper ones as it usually requires you to buy two or three of something of the name-brand product, when the store brand product is cheaper even with the coupons.

Unless they are those online ones that automatically get taken off your bill or they are those store loyalty things that are just 5 quid off your bill regardless of what you buy.
Anything else is just too much faffing around.

Aldi doesn't have coupons. Our local grocery store coupons are automatically taken off when you enter your phone number into the terminal at check out. Outside of that I occasionally check Amex offers and use online coupons that come in my email.

I only bother with clipping actual paper coupons if they'll double to at least a dollar and/or if they fall into my lap.

Nope. I don't clip coupons. I do check online grocery ads every Wednesday so I know what's on sale each week.

This - I do similar but with HEB.

I have a script that will click the "Clip coupon" button for each and every single coupon. When I go to the grocery store I just enter in my phone number and thus it will apply any and all coupons.

I don't look at the coupons unless it's some kind of "exclusive" one from the store, I just buy my groceries as normal and if any apply then it's just bonus points.

That's pretty much what I do for my local Star Market - they have digital coupons on their site and often have additional personalized deals for things I normally buy. Plus, every so many dollars spent gets me an extra few bucks off my next purchase. The opportunity cost to look through the online part is low, since I usually use that and the circular to make a grocery list for the week.

We don't even get paper coupons to look through since we don't get a paper newspaper or get them via USPS.

Quick check at Retailmenot before I buy anything online. Also CVS app, McDonald's app. That's about it. My wife does the groceries so she'll do her homework in the circular once a week.

Burger King and McD's coupons are useful, usually "meal deal" coupons at B.K. save a few bucks going out for fast food, or B1G1 big sandwiches at McD's. I generally don't go out for Fast Food much at all, UNLESS I have current coupons. It's just too expensive otherwise.

Yeah I have mPerks at Meijer (basically Walmart, for you non-MI noobs) where I gain $10 for every $750 spent (and $0.10 off gas), and I get coupons from Meijer for items I frequently, or even occasionally, buy, and go through those when I'm making my shopping list every weekend.

The discounts aren't that much but I suppose over time it adds up to a decent amount (kinda like all the $5 and $10 Amazon gift cards I've gotten thru Bing).

Used to. Fell out of the habit. It "seems" to me they used to offer better deals. I do use the Wendy's and BK phone apps, at times, principally to get either free large fries with any purchase (Wendy's) or $1 large fries (BK.) For me, a large order of fries is almost a meal in itself. Plus, when either offer something new, like Wendy's Baconater (sic) Fries, the app will offer them for free for a time. Both places are on the way to the gym where I swim. Otherwise, I wouldn't stop at either place at all.

The closest I come to "clipping coupons" is using the Get Upside app. Every time after I go grocery shopping, I take about 20 seconds to snap a pic of the receipt and upload it, and then within like 12 hours I get $5 back. I've gotten over $500 in the past like year 2 years or so.

Oh shit I am a big fat liar! I used this coupon in store YESTERDAY although I showed it on my phone, not a paper one.

I'm going to be transporting 2 arcade games this Sunday and got 2 packs of these, so I could use 4 per game.

McDonalds and HarborFreight is about it. I stick them in my console in the truck, and it's 50:50 whether or not they get used. I don't usually see coupons for anything I use, or if I do, the alternative I typically get is still cheaper.

When you don't make a lot of money and want nice stuff, coupons and some bulk deals can be good on items that don't expire.

Whataburger sends a mailer to the office - stuck that in my glove box. Burger is gratis with purchase of fries and drink. Works out to $1.50 off.

HEB usually has stacks of coupons next to the items they apply to so I grab those.

I'll give upwards of 60 seconds on promo codes for online orders, anything more than that isn't really worth my time.
