I go with the grain. I always get ingrown hairs when I go against but of course it's a much closer shave.

I shave with the grain with a razor and shaving gel. <-more complete and spelled out answer to hopefully dispel any further misunderstandings.

With the grain with a double-edged razor then I clean up the remainder with an electric razor. Going against is usually too harsh for me to do it every day but the electric will get in there and get what I missed without much irritation.
